R & R Lighting Company was founded in 1963 by Bernard & Eleanor Robertson with the hope of the American Dream coming true for them. The business was started in the family home with eight lights and the motto, "Good Equipment, Good Service at a Fair Price."

Four years later, R & R Lighting was incorporated, still operating from the family home but now with over 100 various types of lights and other equipment. In 1968, B. E. Robertson II (Buz) came on board as Vice-President, a few years later, Jim Robertson joined the family business. In 1980 The Robertson's family business outgrew the family home and was moved to its current location on Silver Spring Avenue. With this move, another son, Bill, came to work for the company in the rental department.

The company continued to grow throughout the 80's and 90's lighting for virtually every type of event from the Democratic National Conventions, the Presidential Inaugurations, movies, television shows, sporting events and many, many more.

Now in its third generation, Bernard and Eleanor's vision has become a premiere television, stage and theatrical lighting company in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. With over 30 years experience, our founder's motto remains "Good Equipment, Good Service at a Fair Price."
